Back in 1958, when I was 10, my brother and I shared a bedroom in an old house that my parents rented.  The upstairs bedroom was at the top of a long-straight stairway with a locked door from the inside leading to another long hall with two more bedrooms ahead.  In our bedroom, was the closet up-door to the attic and a window that opened to an easily accessible roof top.  We ALWAYS heard strange sounds at night and were told that the steps "popped" due to age.  We continually heard noises coming from that long dark hall and stairway as well as from the attic, where we were told pigeons lived.  We became so fearful as each night approached with it's scary and unpredictable noises that we would block our bedroom door at night.  My brother once was so afraid that instead of going to the bathroom that was on the first floor, he "peed" in the goldfish bowl, killing the goldfish over time.  This went on for a year or so until we moved and I shall never-ever forget the sheer fear and negative anticipation associated with sleeping in that bedroom where we were both convinced that it was both haunted and visited by dark spirits of the night.  Have you ever had a similar experience and do you believe in such things?  Capt.
