"What Happens when We Die?"
The age-old question lingers; "What Happens when We Die?" For the followers of organized and formal religions, the answerer is either JUDGEMENT with your eternal destiny being Heavenly Bliss, for some, Purgatory then Bliss or Eternal Damnation and on and on. For others, open minded ideologies suggest a state of Bliss where we are joined with our deceased loved ones (at least that is the report from those allegedly having the so-called "Near Death Experience" and returning) as we go towards the LIGHT. Still for others, they suggest that our souls are "recycled" and we are born into a new life as we work hard to raise our sense of Spirituality and earn our Salvation and Redemption. Yet for others, there is Nothingness, at least that is what the non-believers say. It is both interesting and downright SCARY that no one has ever-ever come back to tell us what lies beyond the grave, except for Hollywood versions and so called spirit encounters. For me, the most striking thing about understanding death is it's Finality. When someone dies, he/she is GONE "Forever" and when the death is due to an accident or at a young age for any reason the loss seems even more tragic and sad. For Humanity, Death remains a mystery and for those that have Faith, it becomes a less tragic thing, except that this existence and reality ends. Some call it "Rest in Peace" and as others call this existence "The Great Veil Of Tears", then, perhaps Resting in Peace is a nice thought. What do you think? I chose to believe that Something Magnificent occurs when death occurs! Capt. Rick Rotundo
