"When it is Time, Will Death Come to You as a Man or a Woman?"
The Idea that Death, especially when IT approaches at an older age, can "visit" the individual for his/her EXIT, frequently, well before the actual Exit, is widespread among many Cultures. My beloved Grandfather died in June 1979. I was incredibly CLOSE to him and he used to confide in me starting in 1976 at the age of 80, that Death (for him) was a MAN and this man was starting to try and lure him away. Dominick stated that One must NEVER-EVER make direct eye contact with the Death figure or the "exit" will be swift and final. He said that Death was not bad or evil, often times very handsome or beautiful, but in reality, no one is really eager to die and end this Earthly existence. He said days before he passed that often he would see "Death" pass by his home and garden, riding on a bus or walking down the street and he always knew to "look away". After his near fatal heart attack at 83, as the doctors told him he could no longer garden and be very active, he decided to "die" willingly, rather than live as an invalid. He cried as he told me on his death bed (48 hours before he passed) to PLEASE take care of his wife and her sister, forever, and that Death had visited as a Doctor and he made eye contact because he was "ready" to go. He said for me to go, as his first Grandson, and that my Dad, his son, would have to be there to accompany him as he died and he did. He died peacefully. The day he died, my oldest daughter, then 15 months old, woke us by talking to "Papaw" in the staircase late that evening. Grandpa was THERE talking to her and it was real saying GOOD BYE! Capt. Rick Rotundo Thanks for Listening!
